The Coloseum is considered as one of the greatest creation that is a fruit of the Roman architecture and engineering. This elliptical coliseum is the largest ever built during the Roman Empire and is located in the center of Rome, Italy. This historical place is where cruel fights and games of thousands of spectators took place several years ago.

Between 70 and 72 AD, the time of Emperor Vespasian, was when the construction of Colosseum started. This famous historical place was then completed under Titus in 80AD while modifications were still made during the era of Domitan in 81 to 96 AD.
This amphitheater was originally capable of accommodating 50,000 spectators and was used as the venue for gladiatorial contests and public exhibitions. It was only used for almost half a millennium with the last games held here was in the late 6th century.
After more than a thousand of years of standing on the land of Italy, the Colosseum had already suffered from several earthquakes and stone robbers. But still, this amphitheater remains to be one of the most popular tourist spots in Rome.
